Sae Moss Prepration

Preparing sea moss is easy – you just need to wash sea moss a few times with water and then soak it in water for as per instruction on the package or generally for 30-40 minutes. Now, gently take out the sea moss from the pot and put it in strainer over a pot. After that you can let it dry in the open air to make sea moss flakes or powder. Otherwise a lot of people after soaking and rinsing sea moss, simmer/boil it to make sea moss gel.

  1. Wash Sea moss in plain water a few times
  2. Soak sea moss for 30-40 minutes
  3. Gently remove sea moss from the soaking pot
  4. Put it in a strainer

Making of Sea Moss Gel

Before you start making your sea moss gel, you got two options – first, you can make pure sea moss gel and second, you can infuse sea moss gel with other herbs or fruits that you like. This infusing ingredient to sea moss could be just to a different flavor or add other health benefits that sea moss lacks.

I have seen people making sea moss and bladder wrack gel to add body cleansing property of bladder wrack, infusing sea moss gel with passion fruit to make it colorful and taste different.

Methods

  1. Prepare Your Sea Moss (Wash, Rinse, Soak)
  2. Simmer Sea Moss for a half an hour in covering water
  3. Strain Sea Moss and keep the water
  4. Let water cool and thicken (that’s sea moss gel)
  5. Blend the sea moss and keep it in other pot (that’s also sea moss gel)

There are three ways to go about making sea moss gel at home.

First, you prepare sea moss and simmer, strain and let cool and thicken the water. Some people do this way.

Second, after simmering the sea moss in water, let it cool and then blend sea moss with this water and that’s other way people make sea moss gel.

Third, you can add other super food like bladderwrack, burdock root or infuse your sea moss gel with flavoring and coloring fruits like passion fruit.

    • Hello,
We do not recommend nutrient dense food like sea moss in such cases, if you have not taken; you body will not able to digest it. Also, you are not advised to take seaweed more than 5 grams when you are starting..
You can try nori ready made snacks though, these are available at amazon and other stores. You can read more about nori snacks here But don’t overtake it. Nori is also from the Red Algae family..

  3. I have been reading about Sea Moss for a while now and hearing that it’s so good for you.
I have tried the capsules but never noticed anything.

I’m basically pretty healthy but have pain from work injuries sustained over the years and more recently. Also high B/P.

Recently I discovered it comes in a jar and I purchased some, infused w/ Bladder wrack, Burdock root, Sour sop leaves and Cloves (which I know all are good).

It didn’t have any instructions on how to use or how many tsp/tbsp or what to take.

I tried some in home made soup before also again in large salads a few times, but may have used too much (about 1- table spoon each more or less). Was it okay to eat it that way?

I need to know- (1. How much in spoons to use per food item use?
    (2. Is being infused not better? Because your article list the benefits of use- “As long as NOT infused” Which leaves me confused since they are sold that way. (3. When is the best time of day to use it? Thanks!
